Anna (Rusnak) Kubacki January 29, 1931 – July 4, 2024 Anna Kubacki, age 93 of Ubly, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Anna was born on January 29, 1931 in Cass City, Tuscola County on North Hurds Corner Road to the late Michael and Elizabeth (Drotar/Goda) Rusnak. Anna married Raymond Kubacki on July 9, 1955 at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Gagetown. They then resided on a farm southeast of Ubly for 39 years. They moved to Ubly in the fall of 1994. Raymond preceded her in death in May of 1999. She attended Hillside Country School and then graduated from Cass City High School in 1949. S he attended County Normal in Caro for a year and then summer sessions at CMU. She became a country schoolteacher and taught at the South Tyre School in Sanilac County for 5 years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Ubly since 1955. She belonged to Christian Mothers – St. Ann Circle. Anna taught religious education for her parish for 19 years. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary – Parisville Post 5740 since 1978. She held the office of Senior Vice-President for 6 years and was the secretary until its disbandment in 2018. Anna loved to do crafts, quilting, reading, crocheting, knitting, and puzzles. She also loved playing Mrs. Santa in her later years. Anna is survived by 6 children, Suzette (Art) Glaza of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Daniel (Denise) Kubacki of Ubly, Joann Rodriguez of Saginaw, David Kubacki of Ubly and Brian (Carolyn) Kubacki of Royal Oak. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, her twin sister, Rose Osentoski, sister-in-law, Mary Kubacki, along with several nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two infant sons, Donald and Edward, son-in-law Jesus Rodriguez, Jr., and grandson Jarred Glaza. Sisters - Elizabeth Csernyik, Margaret Walters, Mary Weltin. Brothers - Joseph Goda, John Goda, Paul Goda and Frank Goda. Brothers-in-law - Enoch "Red" Osentoski (her twin sister's husband), Frank Csernyik, Stanley Walters, Aaron Weltin, Ervin Maurer, Harry Prazuch, Albert Kubacki, Henry Kubacki, Bernard Kubacki, Anthony Piskorski, and James Lewis. Sisters-in-law, Sylvia Goda, Caroline Goda, Eleanor Goda, Agnes Lewis, Virginia Maurer, Luella Piskorski, and Marcella Prazuch A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2024 at 11 am at Good Shepherd Parish – St. John’s Catholic Church in Ubly. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 2 – 8 pm at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe or Wednesday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. A combined Scripture service – rosary will be offered on Tuesday evening at 7:30 at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to the family discretionary fund.
