Albert E. Kucharczyk, 69, of Harbor Beach passed away unexpectedly at his home 
on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, following an apparent heart attack. 
He was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Paris Township to the late Herman and Frances 
(Wruble) Kucharczyk. 
On Oct. 2, 1954, he was united in marriage to Lylan Swartz in Our Lady of Lake 
Huron Church in Harbor Beach. 
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army overseas. Albert 
established Al's Restaurant in Harbor Beach in 1960 and the A & L Drive In in 
1965. He operated the restaurants until 1978. He also was a dairy farmer until 
his retirement in 1991. 
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach 
and a member of the VFW Post 9344 of Harbor Beach. Albert enjoyed playing 
cards, dancing, and his garden. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather 
and he loved being with his grandchildren. 
Al is survived by his wife, Lylan Kucharczyk of Harbor Beach; his children, 
Debbie Bender and her husband, Elmer, of Harbor Beach, James Kucharczyk and his 
wife, Darlene, of Harbor Beach, Douglas Kucharczyk and his wife, Evonne, of 
Gagetown, Kathy Guitar and her husband, Lavern, of Harbor Beach, Sherry 
Christian and her husband, Steve, of Harbor Beach and Michael Kucharczyk and 
his wife, Annette, of Port Hope; grandchildren, Todd, Traci, Tara, Chad, Shane, 
Chase, Daryle, Brent, Ethan, Jenny, Matthew, Charnelle, Kayla, Shaun, Noel, 
Adam, Amanda; two great grandchildren, Paxton and Evona; several nieces and 
nephews; two brothers, Elmer Cook of Florida, Harold Kucharczyk of Ubly; and a 
sister Marjorie Danielski of Ubly. 
A brother, Ernest; and two sisters, Lillian Lamke and Sylvia Kucharczyk 
preceded him in death. 
Funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, in Our Lady of 
Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach with The Rev. Jerry Kukla, pastor, 
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A
