LaVern Ira Lackowski
March 23, 1937 – December 14, 2008
LaVern “Vern” Ira Lackowski, 74, of Port Hope died Sunday, December 14, 2008 
at home with his family.  LaVern was born March 23, 1934 to Ira and Agnes 
(Ertman) Lackowski in Detroit.  He served his country in the Army and worked 
as a General Foreman at Detroit Power. He has resided the last 15 years at 
Port Hope.  He married Lynne Maiers on May 3, 2003 in Mayville.  LaVern’s 
special interests were hunting, oil painting, and dogs. 

He is survived by his wife, Lynne; and step-children, Karmon, Tenille, Brent, 
Susan, Charlotte and Connie; brother, Jim (Marilyn) Lackowski; sisters, 
Delores Heib and Virginia Bacci.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, 
Jeanette; and a brother, Richard.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Avram 
Funeral Home in Mayville with Pastor Bob Jones of Scottville officiating. 
Interment will take place at New River Cemetery of Port Austin at 3 p.m. with 
Military Honors conducted.  Family will receive visitors from 2 to 8 p.m. 
Tuesday and at 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the Avram 
Funeral Home, 6028 Lincoln Street, , Mayville, Michigan.  Memorials may be 
made to the Family Fund.
