She was born on January 22, 1931 in Harbor Beach to the late Andrew and Emma (Kosal) Schulte. She married William F. Lackowski on October 7, 1950 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1993. Lorraine attended the East Huron Rural School through third grade and went on to Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic School in Harbor Beach where she graduated in 1950. She worked at several different jobs while raising her family including farming and gardening. She and her husband became owners of the Parisville Hotel for 25 years before she retired eight years ago. They sponsored softball and bowling teams and hosted card clubs and pheasant tail contests where much food and fun was had by all who passed by or stopped over. Bill and Lorraine were members of the Michigan Beverage Association. Lorraine enjoyed being a tour leader for Big Daddy Tours from 1994 to 2004. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where she also was a member of the Rosary Sodality. Lorraine is survived by two daughters: Patricia Eicher, of Frankenmuth; Betty Deachin and her husband, Carey, of Ogden, Utah; three sons: Ronald Lackowski and his wife, Doreen (Pichla) of Bad Axe; Daniel Lackowski and his wife, Karen (Bensinger) of Ubly; Robert Lackowski and his wife, Colleen (Peruski) of Vicksburg; 13 grandchildren: Chad Wilson and his wife, Jeanette (Drago) of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Bobbie Jean Wilson of Port Hope; David, Brandi, Ryan and Brittany Deachin, all of Ogden, Utah; Brian Lackowski and his wife, Morgan (Ewen) of Ubly; Pamela, Billy Joe, and Kimberly Lackowski of Bad Axe; Jared and Kara Lackowski of Ubly; Kyle Lackowski of Vicksburg; three great- grandchildren: Courtney Wilson of Port Hope; Sloan and Ashton Deachin of Ogden, Utah; three sisters-in-law: Jeanette (Lackowski) Lopez and her husband, Al, of Sterling Heights; Marie Schulte of Harbor Beach; Rose Schulte of Marysville; four brothers-in-law: Clarence Lackowski and his wife, Betty, (McMann) of Frankenmuth; Marshall "Big Daddy" Lackowski and his wife, Mary Ann (Finelli) of Washington; Alexander Lackowski of Bad Axe; Norman Wolschleger and his wife, Doris of Harbor Beach; many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by seven brothers: Vincent, Raymond, Andrew, Lawrence, Ivan, Valarian, and Rudolph Schulte; five sisters: Cecilia Chateau, Margaret Weir, Irene Stapleton, Dolores Wolschleger, and Roseleen Schulte; son- in-law, Richard Eicher. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Andrzej Boroch, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church only. There will be a family vigil service at 7 p.m. and a rosary by St. Mary Rosary Sodality at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
