Curtis Joseph (Landyszkowski) Lance
March 9, 1916 - September 8, 1998
MCKINNEY - Curtis Joseph Lance, 82, a field maintenance supervisor who retired 
from the Federal Aviation Administration after 22 years, died Tuesday September 
8, 1998, at a McKinney medical center. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Monday at St 
Michael's Catholic Church in McKinney Officiating: Father Carl Vogel Burial: 
Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

Curtis Lance was born March 4, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan to Michael and Johanna 
Glaza Lance.  He married Mary Margaret Summers on October 12, 1946, in Socorro 
New Mexico.  He was a member of St Michael's Catholic Church in McKinney.  Mr. 
Lance also ran a flying school was a helicopter test pilot, and was head 
cameraman at a south Texas television station.  He was a licensed airframe and 
power plant mechanic, licensed electrician and was an auto mechanic.  According 
to his wife, he was a dam good husband 

Survivors: Wife Mary Margaret Lance of McKinney; sons Curtis Michael Lance of 
McKinney, Marc Edward Lance of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and David Milton Lance 
of Van Nuys California; daughters Jean Anne Lance and Joan Marie Lance both of 
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister Mildred Varde of Michigan and six grandchildren.
