Evelyn M. Learman, 88, Harbor Beach, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 
Hills and Dale Hospital in Cass City.  She was born on July 6, 1921 in Harbor 
Beach to the late John and Cecilia (Booms) Terbrack.  Evelyn and Arthur 
Learman were united in marriage on October 22, 1941 at Sts. Peter and Paul 
Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1993.  Evelyn 
was a farmer’s wife who enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and canning 
the fruits of her labor.  She also enjoyed going to garage sales. She was a 
member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helena and was a member of the 
Altar Society. 

She is survived by her children, Marie (Edward) Holdwick, Harbor Beach, 
Theresa Holdwick, Harbor Beach, Edward (Marianne) Learman, Oscoda, and 
Frederick Learman and his friend of Sally, Three Rivers; daughter-in-law, 
Ilene Learman, Harbor Beach; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren, and six 
step great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosalee (Richard) Holdwick, Bad Axe, Alice 
(Ken) Sadro, Bad Axe, Adalaide (Jerome) Block, Ruth, and Rita (Art) Glaza, Bad 
Axe; brothers, Don (Nancy) Terbrack, Harbor Beach, and John Terbrack, 
Southgate.  She was preceded in death by a son, John Learman; grandson, Jimmy 
Learman, and son-in-law, Harold Holdwick; brothers, Marvin, Clarence, Herbert, 
Marcus Terbrack, and two infant brothers Gerald and Herman Terbrack; sisters, 
Matilda Johnson, Jeanette Seidl, and Beatrice Glaza. 

Funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 26, 2010 in St. Anthony’s Catholic 
Church, Helena, with Fr. Donald Eppenbrock officiating.  Burial took place in 
the church cemetery.  Arrangements were handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home, 
Harbor Beach.
