William L Learman, 73, prominent Sigel Twp farmer and secretary-treasurer of the 
Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Huron county for five years, died 
Thurs.  He was found dead in his bed Thurs morning. Coroner Alden A MacAlpine 
said Mr. Learman died in his sleep of a heart ailment. He had suffered 
previously from mild attacks. Wed. he worked in the insurance co. office and 
apparently was in his usual health. Born July 19, 1879, in Sand Beach twp, Mr. 
Learman worded as a young man in the lumber woods in northern MI. He later began 
farming in Sigel twp. For many years, his son, Lowery Learman, and he operated 
the farm together and developed it into an outstanding firm. They specialized in 
raising beef cattle. Survivors include two sons, Lowery and Frank, one daughter, 
Miss Amanda Learman, all of Harbor Beach; 11 grandchildren, nine great (.) 
Frank, Grand Rapids. Funeral arrangements are not complete.
