William Robert Lemke April 29, 1937 - April 1, 1992 William "Bill" R. Lemke, 54, of Bad Axe, a former resident of Paris Township near Ubly, died at his home after a long illness. He was born April 29, 1937 at Smith Corners, son of the late John and Mary (Krutz) Lemke. Mr. Lemke was a Paris Township farmer, and had been employed at the Bad Axe Grain Co., Active Homes in Marlette, and Gemini Plastics in Ubly. He attended Maurer Rural Country School. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Rory (Mary) McIntosh of Ubly, Sharon Lemke and Mrs. Tim (Denise) Lapka, both of Bad Axe, Mrs. Steve (Karen) Jarson of Essexville, and Mrs. John (Pam) Hentschel of Lehigh of Acres, Florida; three grandchildren; seven sisters, Alice Byrd of Illinois, Irma Carr of Ottawa Lake, Edith Connolly of Pinckney, Lorene Binder and Helen Zychowicz of Ohio, Shirley Venabel of Arizona, and Marge Close of Michigan; a brother, Otto, of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Smith Corners. The Rev. Robert J. Handley officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the MacAlpine Funeral Home of Bad Axe. Memorials may be offered to the donor's choice.
