"Chet" Leppek, 83, former Ubly resident, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Kenilworth Care and Rehab in Sebring, Florida. Chet was born in Paris Township. He served as a Staff Sgt. with the U.S. Marine Air Wing in World War II. Chet served on the Ubly Village Council. He was a former officer of the TVO and member of the Lions Club and St. John's, all in Ubly. He retired from the Nestles Company. He worked in Ubly and Fulton, New York. He moved to Sebring, Florida in 1982 from Waterloo, New York. He is survived by his loving wife, Bette; daughter, Linda (Michael) Woods, of Alto; sons, Vern (Linda) Leppek, of Sebring, Florida and Bryce (Katherine) Leppek, of Medford, Oregon; brothers, Melvin (Virginia), Gerald (Frances), Alphonso (Marilyn) and Paul Leppek, all of Michigan; grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Eli and Beth. Chet was preceded in death by grandson, Jason. A Funeral Mass with burial at St. John's will be announced at a later date. Memorials are requested to Sleeper Public Library.
