Zigmond Frank Leppek May 1, 1914 - November 6, 2000 Zigmond Frank Leppek, 86, of Filion, died Monday evening, November 6, 2000, at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe. He was born May 1, 1914 in Parisville, son of the late William and Eva (Danielski) Leppek. He married Magdaline Talaski on August 29, 1938 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. He attended country school. He sailed the Great Lakes from 1936 until 1937. He farmed and worked for Talaski Ford Garage in Bad Axe as a mechanic for 35 years. He was a parishioner of St Joseph in Rapson since 1942. He was an usher and member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #2358 and a member of Farm Bureau. Mr. Leppek enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Magdaline of Filion; two sons, Francis William Leppek and his wife, Wendy, of Howell, and Daniel Leppek and his wife, Karen, of Fowlerville; four daughters, Judy Holdwick of Warren, Patricia Maurer and her husband, Kenneth, of Warren, Darlene Kaczmarek and her husband, Peter, of Bay City, and Diana Leppek-Binder of Mason; 27 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren; one sister, Grace Maurer and her husband, Fred, of Ubly; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Leppek. He was preceded in death by one son, Leonard Leppek on July 14, 1995; infant brother Clarence Leppek; and infant sister, Mary Leppek. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at St Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. Rev. John Weis, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation on Thursday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly is from 1:00 until 9:30 pm. and on Friday from 8:30 until 10:00 a.m. There will be a parish wake service at 7:00 pin.
