Bertha (Pawlowski) Leppek
October 5, 1903 - June 9, 1991
Bertha Leppek, 87, Ubly, a lifelong resident of Huron County, died Sunday. 
June 9, 1991, at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe after a short illness.  
She was born October 12, 1903, In Paris Township, daughter of the late Peter 
and Josephine (Wrubel) Pawlowski.  She married Joseph Leppek on October 5, 
1920, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville.  He preceded her in death 
August 8, 1984.  Mrs. Leppek attended Block No. 1 Country School.  She and 
her husband farmed until 1950 in Paris Township.  They lived in Port Austin 
from 1950-1967 and then moved to Ubly.  She was a member of St. John’s 
Catholic Church, Ubly, and Daughters of Isabella, Fidelis Regina Circle 608, 
Bad Axe.  She was an honorary member of St. John's Christian Mothers, Queen 
of Angels Circle No. 4. 
Surviving are five sons, Chester (Bette) Leppek, Sebring, Florida, Melvin 
Virginia) Leppek, West Bloomfield, Alphonce (Marilyn) Leppek, Okemos, and 
Paul Leppek, Ubly; 12 grand-children; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, 
Fabian Pawlowski, Bad Axe, and Steve Pawlowski, Harbor Beach; and one 
sister, Minnie Tschirhart, Detroit.  Preceding her in death were four 
sisters, Agnes, Frances, Bridget, and Loretta, and two brothers, Edward and 
Paul. 

Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Ubly.  The 
Rev. Peter Gaspeny, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  
Arrangements were made by the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly.
