Edmund Leppek April 30, 1904 - December 17, 1989 Edmund Leppek, 85, Utica, died Sunday, December 17, 1989 at Autumnwood of Deckerville after a short illness. He was born April 30, 1904 in Paris Township, son of the late William and Apolonia (Glaza) Leppek. He married Martha Salowitz January 10, 1931 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville. Mr. Leppek was educated and farmed in the Parisville area. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1923 - 1930 and moved to Utica in 1952. He retired in 1967 from his Utica area construction business after 35 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Martha, Utica; two sons, Edmund L. Leppek, Alpena, and William W. Leppek, Lima, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Aeriellia) Swartz, Utica, and Mrs. William (Audrey) Gayda, Almont; 13 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrandchildren. Preceding him in death were four brothers and six sisters. Services were held Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Ubly. The Rev. Peter Gaspeny, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were conducted by Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly. Published Minden City Herald Thursday December 21, 1989.
