Edward Levaine
Sylvester Edward Levaine, 82, formerly of Kinde passed away April 1, 2008 at 
Troy Beaumont Hospital following an unexpected illness, surrounded by his 
loving family.

Born on June 28, 1925, he was the son of the late Steven and Maragret 
(Horetski) Leavine.

He was a parishioner of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Kinde. He was a hard 
working man who enjoyed being an entrepreneur, farmer, and taking care of his 
family. He was an active dairy farmer until 2004, when he went to live with 
his wife and daughter in Sterling Heights.

Sylvester is survived by his wife, Josephine, after a marriage of 59 years. 
Sylvester has three daughters, Sylvia Rivard of Warren, Darlene Levaine of 
Sterling Heights, Veronica (David) Claeys of New Baltimore, and one son, John 
(Brenda) Levaine of Kinde. Sylvester was the proud grandfather of six 
grandchildren, Ilene Sipp, Kevin Rivard, Jacquelyn Claeys, Marissa Claeys, 
Mechaela Levaine, and Braden Levaine. He was also a great-grandfather to 
Madison Rivard. Syl had six sisters, Theresa Nowak, Agnes Jimpkowski, Irene 
Osentoski, Bernice (Joe) Klakulak, Celia (Peter) Meyer, and Eleanor (Simon) 
Kalka. Syl had one brother, Frank Leavine of Kinde.

Sylvester was preceded in death by his brother, Casimer Leavine, an infant 
brother and his sister, Regina Murawski.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at St. Blaze Catholic 
Church, 12151 15 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. Burial will take place at a 
later date in Ubly.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Wujek-Calceterra Funeral 
Home, 36900 Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights.

Geraldine Erna Shue

Geraldine Erna Shue, 93, of Flint Township, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 
Select Specialty Hospital.

Geraldine was born in Caseville on Aug. 21, 1914, the daughter of Gordon and 
Pearl (Reeves) Winhold.

She married Sidney A. Shue on Sept. 10, 1938 in Byron.

Geraldine attended Flint Junior College. She enjoyed spending time at the 
family cottage in Caseville, reading, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Sidney; daughter, Geraldine (Richard) Burton of 
Waterville, Ohio; son, Sidney (Lori) Shue of McMurray, Pa.; grandchildren, 
Anne Buckholtz of Swanton, Ohio, Marc Burton of Waterville, Ohio, Sarah Shue 
of Pittsburgh, Pa., Brian Shue of McMurray, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, 
Ashley and Kaylie Buckholtz.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ramona Noerdlinger.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 
Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing. The Rev. Matt Webster will officiate. Burial 
will be at 3 p.m. on Friday at Caseville Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the 
funeral home.
