He was born July 6, 1893 In Sigel Township, son of the late John and Sophie (Kucharczyk) Makowski. He married Blanche Trepkowski Bismack November 25, 1935 at St, Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville. Mr. Makowski attended St. Mary's School, Parisville, and farmed all his life In Sigel Township until he retired in 1958. He was a lifelong parishioner at Mary’s Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Blanche, Ruth; one daughter, Mrs. Willis (Marion) Wilkowskl, St. Clair; one son, Elmer “James” Makowski, Ruth; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lambert (Lillian) Jaroch, Ubly, and Mrs. David (Mildred) Oberski, Ruth; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, one brother, Vincent Makowski, Harbor Beach; and two sisters, Mary Elwart, Warren, and Rose Ratajczak, East Detroit. Preceding him in death were three brothers, John Makowski, Michael Makowski, and Thomas Makowski; four sisters, Victoria Ulfig, Frances Klebba, Agnes Grates, and Anna Woychowski. Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Leonard Wilkuski, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were made by Zinger-Smigielski funeral Home, Ubly.
