Formerly of Rochester Hills, Ronald was born July 5, 1939, in Cass City, Michigan, the son of Thomas and Helen. Ron was a qraduate of Macomb County Community College. He was proud of his service in the Air Force Reserve, and had been a member of the Sterling Heights Jaycees. Ron had a 40 vear real estate appraisal career, including 26 years at First Federal of Michigan and established an independent appraisal service. He was a highly respected member of the Appraisal Institute, and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, for which, he also served as president. He was active in the communities in which he lived, working on several boards and communities in Sterling Heights and Rochester Hills, as well as running for public office. Ron enjoyed 37 years as the husband of Kathleen, with whom he loved traveling; they were able to see all 50 stales, several countries and continents. Highlights of his travel included traversing the Panama Canal and walking on the Great Wall of China. He was an avid sports fan and also loved boating. bird-watching, reading, fishing, cruising around Northern Michigan in his convertible, and walks with his friend, Jack. He was especially moved by nature, and spent much time qazing at the beauty of the lake on which he lived since his retirement. Many friends spoke often of Ron s calm temperament and easy-going personality, as weII as his quirky good humor and ability to see the light side of any situation Ron will be greatly missed by his wife Kathleen (Lukas): their four children: Steven (Amy), Mark (Jennifer), Jason and Amy Maar (Todd): his three qrandchildren: Parker, Amanda and Liam: and his brother, Dale (Delores). He was also looking forward to the arrival of his fourth grandchild in July. Ron's children and their educational achievements were great sources of pride for him. Private services have been held, and an open-house Memorial Gathering is scheduled for June 10, 2005 from 3:30-8:00 p,m. at Alfoccino’s Restaurant, 2225 N. Opdyke (1 ½ mi. south of the Palace), Auburn Hills, 248-340-1000. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Traverse (Frankfort) Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, 100049 E. Grandview Court, Traverse City, Mi 49684-5307 or the Gift of Life, Michigan.
