Martha (Skrzypinski) Mazure
October 4, 1879 – June 30, 1981
Mrs. Martha Mazure, 101 years old MINDEN CITY - Martha Mazure, 101, died 
Tuesday, June 30, 1981, in Huron Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe, after a short 
illness.  She was born October 4, 1879, in Paris Township, where she was a 
longtime resident.  She married Rufus Mazure in 1897 in Parisville.  He died 
August 27, 1933.  Mrs. Mazure was a survivor of the Great Fire of 1881. 

She is survived by three daughters, Lucy, Minden City, Mrs. Bertha Gwisdalla, 
Warren, and Mrs. Nettie Schumacher, Forester; two sons, Matthew, Ubly, and 
Henry, Minden City; a brother, Edward Skipinski, Ubly; 16 grandchildren; 38 
great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchidren.  A sister-in-law, Mrs. 
Otylia Skrzypinski of Ubly, died June 5 at the age of 101.  

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 
Parisville. The Rev. Stanley Surman, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in 
the church cemetery.  Visiting begins at 3 p.m. today in the Zinger Funeral 
Home, Ubly.  A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Mazure January 31, 1898 according to the marriage records – not 1897 as stated in 
the obituary.
