Veteran Nurse In Huron County, Dies
Bad Axe, March 22 -- Miss Christina T. McIntyre, 66, prominent retired Huron 
County nurse, died Friday in Stevens Nursing Home, Cass City, after an illness 
of two months resulting from a fractured hip suffered in a fall.  Born May 3, 
1885, in Sheridan Twp, Miss McIntyre spent practically her entire life there 
except for brief periods in New York City, Chicago and Detroit.  Miss McIntyre 
was graduated in 1909 by Kalamazoo State Hospital and in 1919 by New York 
Polyclinic Medical School hospital.  She practiced nursing in New York, Chicago 
and Detroit before she joined the staff of Hubbard Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe, 
where she served 25 yrs until she retired in April, 1947. 

She was the 805th nurse to be registered in MI and was one of the first nurses 
from the Thumb. Her sister, Mrs. Roy D. McIntyre, Bad Axe, was the 805th nurse 
to be registered in MI. Miss McIntyre was highly regarded by the thousands of 
persons whom she served as a nurse during her long career.  She was a lifelong 
member of St Columbkille Cath ch in Sheridan Twp and an honorary member of the 
Huron County Registered Nurses association. Miss McIntyre is survived by two 
brothers, Daniel and Ronald McIntyre, both of Bad Axe and two sisters, Mrs. 
McIntyre and Mrs. Leo Quinn, Cass City.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in St Columbkille ch by Rev 
Edward R. Werm. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Remains are in Edward 
Zinger & Son funeral home, Ubly, where Fr Worm will officiate at Rosary 
devotionals at 8 p.m. Sunday.
