Delores Mary (Booms) McLain
May 24, 1932 - January 1, 1997
Dolores McLain, age 64, of Margate, Florida, died of cancer January 1st, 
1997 at Hospice University Hospital in Florida.  She was born May 24th, 1932 
in Ruth, Michigan to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Cecelia Booms of Ruth, 
Michigan.  She was the wife of the late Carl McLain. 

Surviving are five children, Cheryl (Richard) Burns of Bristol, Indiana, 
Janet Rich of Pompana Beach, Florida, Robert (Cathrine) McLain, Tampa, 
Florida, Donald (Dee Dee) McLain of Margate, Florida, and Dennis (Michelle) 
McLain of Margate, Florida; five sisters and five brothers, Lucille Niemi of 
Detroit, Stella (Leo) Lemanski of Ubly, Lauretta (James) Gusa of Harbor 
Beach, Lavem (Lucille) Booms of Beaverton, Michigan, Jerome Booms and the 
late Millie Booms of Ruth, Harold (Clara) Booms of Madison Heights, Leona 
(Kenneth) Maurolf of Harbor Beach, Leo (Ruth Ann) Booms of Warren, Irvin 
(Marlene) Booms of Warren, and Marlene (Marvin) Mausolf of Harba Beach; 
seven grandchildren, Michael and Jeremy Rich and Christopher Snyder of 
Pompana Beach, Florida, Danny and Ryan McLain of Margate, Florida, and 
Courtney and Kathlyn McLain of Margate, & several nieces, nephews, great-
nieces and nephews. ... Funeral services were held January 4, 1997 in 
Margate, Florida by Fr. Michael Lynch at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in 
Margate, Florida.  Funeral arrangements were conducted by Kareer Funeral 
Home in Margate, Florida.  Burial was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  Any 
donations can be sent to Hospice or the Cancer Society.  Published Minden 
City Herald Thursday January 30, 1997.

MARGATE, Fla. - News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Booms, Ruth, 
that their son-in-law, Carl McLain, 58, of Margate, died October 4 in a 
veterans hospital after a lengthy illness.  He was born June 28, 1920.  He 
married Delores Booms May 15, 1954, in Ruth.  He lived in St. Clair Shores 
until moving to Florida 10 years ago.  Mr. McLain was a World War II veteran 
of the U.S. Army.  He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Cheryl and 
Janet; three sons, Robert, Donald and Dennis; and his mother, Mrs. Dorothy 
McLain, Margate.  Funeral services and burial were Oct. 7 in Margate.
