Carl J McLean, 23, died Friday in University hospital, Ann Arbor, after an eight 
year battle with Hodgkins disease. Mr. McLean was a graduate of LaMar Barber 
college, Detroit and worked in Detroit and in Argyle as a barber until his 
illness forced him to stop. He had renewed his license for the coming year in 
October. He was born Sept 3, 1928 in Austin Twp, Sanilac county, and was a life 
long resident there except for a short time in Detroit. He was stricken with the 
disease at the age of 15. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Duncan McLean, 
two brothers, Wallace of Argyle and Gerald of Tyre, three sisters, Mrs. Alex 
Wheeler of Snover and Miss Coletta and Miss Deanna of Tyre. Funeral services 
will be Mon at 9:30 a.m. from St Joseph ch, Argyle. Rev William V Flannery will 
officiate at the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosary 
devotions will be at 8 p.m. Sunday from the family home with Rev Flannery 
officiating. 

The body will be removed from the Zinger Funeral home to the family home Friday 
evening.
