He was born September 14, 1948, in Harbor Beach, son of the late Arthur and Catherine (Clor) Messing. He was never married. He was a graduate of St. Peter & Paul High School of Ruth in 1967. He worked for Deckerville Die Form for 18 years as a stock handler. He was employed by St. Peter & Paul School for five years in building maintenance. He was a parishioner of St. Peter & Paul Church and had been an altar assistant. He was a member of the Sandusky Knights of Columbus Council #4693. He was presently employed at Davenport University of Bad Axe. He is survived by five brothers, Carl and his wife, Rose Ann, of Utica, Harold and his wife, Jo Ann, of Ruth, Daniel and his wife, Matilda, of Harbor Beach, George and his wife, Diane, of Ruth, Harvey and his wife, Elaine, of East Lansing; two sisters, Mildred Vogel and her husband, Daniel, of Minden City, and Mary Ann Leppek of Harbor Beach. He was preceded in death by his brother- in-law, Michael Leppek; and several nieces and nephews. Per his request, there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will take place at a future date. Burial will be at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery of Ruth in the spring.
