Desmond & Sons Funeral Home Maryann T.(Dreussi) Messing September 5, 1947 - September 19, 2015 Maryann Messing- LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, SISTER, AND FRIEND. Maryann Messing cherished time with her Husband, 11 children, 11 grandchildren, sister, and friends. Maryann (Dreussi) Messing was born September 5th, 1947 in Canton, Ohio to Severino and Anna Dreussi (deceased). She attended Central Catholic High School and graduated from Timken Mercy Diploma Nursing School in 1968. While training to be a nurse she met her husband Patrick, who was one of her patients. They married on June 21st, 1969. Together they had 11 children, and over 46 years of marriage were a shining example to many of faith, love and fortitude. Maryann lived her life to love, care, and enjoy time with her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards and games, dancing and laughing with all of her family and friends. She reveled in the joy of a good QVC deal. She had a sharp mind and provided common sense advice. She had a great sense of humor and laughed often. Her kind, calm demeanor was a constant source of comfort to all those who knew her. Maryann worked as a registered nurse at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak for 46 years. During that time she built lasting friendships and cared for patients with a gentle hand and a loving smile. Maryann was a proud member at The National Shrine of the Little Flower Church. She sang in the church choir and travelled to Rome, Italy as a member, where she met and held the hand of Pope John Paul II. She was also a member of the Woman's Guild. Maryann was mother to eleven children, son Michael (Kristen), daughter Christine "Tina" Griessel (Kevin), son Keith, son Joseph (Charouay), son Timothy (Katie), daughter Patricia Greco (Chris), daughter Therese Eason (Tom), daughter Rebecca, son Mark (Laura), daughter Monica Brennan (Xach), and daughter Jessica. She was grandmother to eleven grandchildren, Michaela and Hayden Messing, Anna and Ava Griessel, Amelie and Van Charles Messing, Elliot, Emmett, and Alex Messing, and Connor and Andrew Eason. Maryann is survived by her loving sister Terie Dreussi-Smith. Her brothers Joseph and James Dreussi are both deceased. Maryann was a shining light of the love of God for her family and friends. Her beautiful spirit and example of love will live on both in heavenly glory and in the hearts of all her children and loved ones. Family will receive friends Tuesday 2:00 – 8:00pm with Scripture Service at 7:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile), Royal Oak. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:00am at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, (Woodward Ave. at Twelve Mile Rd.). Royal Oak. Visitation at Church begins at 9:30am. Visitation and Burial: Thursday, September 24th, 2015 at 11:00am at Old St. Mary's Church, Port Sanilac, Michigan.
