Mary Ann (Emming) Messing 
November 17, 1884 – January 23, 1973
Mrs. William P. Messing -  RUTH - Mrs. Mary Messing, 88, widow of William P. 
Messing, died Tuesday in Huron County Medical Care Facility after a long 
illness.  She was born November 17, 1884, in Sherman township.  She and Mr. 
Messing were married June 6, 1905, in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth.  
They farmed in Sherman township until 1944 when they retired and moved to Ruth.  
Mr. Messing died October 6, 1946.  Mrs. Messing was a member of the 
Confraternity of Christian Mothers of SS. Peter and Paul Church. 

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Cecilia Van-Dalen, Snover; Mrs. Michael 
Kosal, Palms; Mrs. Wilbert Kirsch and Mrs. Mary Esenmacher, both of Harbor 
Beach, and Mrs. Jerome Priemer, Ruth; five sons, Wilfred, of Forestville, 
Norman, of Bad Axe, Robert, of Harbor Beach, Clement, of Ruth, and James, 
Roseville; 57 grandchildren and 102 great grandchildren. 

The remains will be in Zinger Funeral Home, Ubly, after 7 p.m. Wednesday.  
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in SS. Peter and Paul Church with 
Rev. Gerald Gumbleton, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the church 
cemetery.  A Bible vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday by Father 
Gumbleton, and a Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Christian
