Shelia Marie (Booms) Messing
April 5, 1938 - August 26, 1991
Sheila Messing, S3, of Minden City, died Monday, August 26, 1991, at her 
residence, after an extended illness.  She was born April 5, 1938 in Harbor. 
Beach, daughter of Mrs. Estella (Essenmacher) Booms and the late Wilfred Booms.  
She married Willard Messing on June 13, 1959 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in 
Helena.   Mrs. Messing was a graduate of Our Lady of Lake Huron High School. She 
attended Oakland Community College and graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. 
Clair Community College.  She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Deckerville 
Community Hospital.  Mrs. Messing was a parishioner at St. John’s Catholic 
Church in Forestville for the past 13 years and a member of the St. John 
Christian Mothers. 

She is survived, by her husband, Willard Messing, Minden City; three daughters, 
Janis (Timothy) Peters, Walled Lake, Cindy Messing and Peggy Messing, both of 
Farmington Hills; three sons, Tony (Pauline) Messing and Randall (Jennifer) 
Messing, both of Ruth, and Bradley Messing, Shepherd; two grandchildren; her 
mother, Estella Booms; three sisters, Marjorie (Edward) Messing, Minden City, 
Sr. Evelyn Booms, Detroit, Joann Ginther Bridgeport; three brothers, Gerald 
Booms, Ubly, Charles Booms, Pueblo, Colorado, Dennis Booms, Kaukauana,  
Wisconsin, and Harry Booms, Harbor Beach. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in 
Helena.   Rev. Stephen Fillion, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the 
church cemetery.  Friends may call at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly 
on Wednesday from noon until 9:30 p.m.  A parish wake service will be held 
Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   Published Minden City
