Julianna (Essenmacher) Messing
May 24, 1938 - January 1, 2020
Julianna Virginia Messing, age 81, of Carsonville, passed away on Wednesday, 
January 1, 2020 at Autumnwood of Deckerville.  She was born May 24, 1938 in 
Dearborn, daughter of the late George and Agnes (Koss) Essenmacher.  Julianna 
married Gordon B. Messing on April 27, 1957 in Helena.  She was a member of St. 
Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Sanilac.

Julianna is survived by her husband Gordon of 62 years; 2 sons, Randolph J. 
(Jill), and David M.; 5 daughters, Barbara J. (Richard) Koenig, Donna M. Joseph, 
Kathryn A. (Neil) Bitzer, Laura A. Scott, and Sarah E. Messing: 19 
grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, John, James, Bruce, and Steve 
Essenmacher; 3 sisters, Virginia Booms, Janet Lemanski, and Shirley Essenmacher.  
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Dobrinski, grandaughter 
Veronica, and great grandaughter Avery, and son in law Michael P Scott; brother, 
George Essenmacher, and an infant sister, Mary.

Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Wednesday, January 8 at St. Marys Catholic Church, 
Port Sanilac. Fr. Donald J. Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in Old St. 
Marys Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2-9 PM Tuesday at the Pomeroy Funeral 
Home, Carsonville, and at church, from 10-11 AM Wednesday.  Rosary 4 PM Tuesday
