Frederick Joseph Messing
June 21, 1940 - May 1, 1993
Ruth State Bank loan officer Fred J. Messing, 52, of Ruth, died Saturday, May 1, 
1993, at his residence after a long illness.  He was born June 21, 1940 in 
Harbor Beach, son of Rosaline (Booms) Messing and the late Bernard Messing.  He 
married Audrey Seidl, October 21, 1961 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in 
Ruth.  Mr. Messing was a graduate of Sts. Peter & Paul High School.  He was a 
member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for 32 years, and a member of the 
parish choir for the last 25 years.  He was the Sherman Township Clerk for 27 
years and had been a member of the Huron County Farm Bureau since 1961. H e was 
a member of the John Deere Thumb Two-Cylinder Club.  He worked at the Ruth State 
Bank for 36 years, where he was a cashier and loan officer.  Mr. Messing also 
farmed in Sherman Township and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Deer 
Hunters. 

Surviving are his wife, Audrey, of Ruth; two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Tammy of 
Ruth, and Wade and his wife Mary of Fowlerville; four daughters, Barbara and 
Ellen at home, Mrs. Lee (Rebecca) Friend of Coldwater and Eve of Ypsilanti; his 
mother Rosaline of Harbor Beach; four grandchildren; three brothers, Richard and 
his wife Ida Mae of Ruth, Thomas and his wife Judy of Ransomville, New York, and 
Mike and his wife Joyce of Ubly. 

Services were held Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  The 
Rev. Richard Bokinskie, pastor, officiated with burial in the church cemetery.  
Arrangements were made by the Zinger - Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.
