MESSING, Kevin Michael - Age 62, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022. Visitation will be Monday December 26, 2022 from 3-7 PM at Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home, 2091 E. Main St, Ubly, MI and Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4-8 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, where a vigil will be held at 7:00 PM, and Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the church from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton (A live stream of the service will be available on Kevin's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are encouraged to consider memorial contributions to any of the following: UVA Cancer Clinic for LGL Leukemia, Eva's Place, Adopt-a-Pet Fenton, or Clara's Hope of Fenton. Kevin was born December 2, 1960 in Harbor Beach, the son of Clement Joseph and Donna Belle (Horton) Messing. He was a 1979 graduate of Ubly High School and he received a Bachelor's Degree from Northwood Institute in Midland. He married Shelly Peruski October 3, 1987 in Argyle. He had resided in Fenton for the past 33 years coming from Ruth/Lexington. He was a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones for the past 15 years. Kevin's kids were the most important thing in his life. He was never too busy to take time with them. Kevin's love of people led him to the perfect career. As a Financial Advisor, he was able to touch many lives. He was always ready to listen and help if needed. He was not only successful in business, but he also was very involved in the community through the Fenton and Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce and the St. John Applefest. He was instrumental in implementing the North Leroy Business District with the Chamber and was a long time Raffle Chair for the St. John Applefest. Kevin worked hard, played hard, and was always adamant about taking vacations and trips with his family. Whether it was just heading to the Thumb to visit family, or flying south to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He was passionate about spending time with his family. Surviving are: his wife, Shelly; son, Connor Messing of Fenton; daughter, Cassidy Messing of Fenton; siblings, Jacqueline Volmering of Ruth, Linda (Roland) Siemen of Harbor Beach, Doreen (Jim) Bukoski of Caro, John (Catherine) Messing of Lexington, Marlene Byrd of Marion, Virginia and Sandra (Eugene) Wasierski of Ubly; In Laws, Jim and Delphine Peruski of Deckerville; sisters-in- law, Darla Peruski of Snover and Denise (Eric) Inbody of Deckerville; brother- in-law. Cliff (Laurie) Peruski of Davison; aunt, Ruth Horton of Grand Haven; former sister-in-law, Patricia Messing of Sandusky; godchildren, Amy (Seidl) Bombard of Lexington, Sara (Inbody) Fritch of Bladwin, Shauna (Salcido) Brinkman of Cass City and Travis Rumptz of Snover; and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ron Messing; and brothers-in-law, Scott Peruski, Tom Schumacher, Ken Byrd, Ray Volmering and Rick Feury.
