Bernard Messing
Ruth, Jan 14 - Bernard Messing, 72, lifelong resident of Sherman Twp, died 
Monday night after an illness of 2 years.  Mr. Messing is survived by his widow, 
Amelia; three daughters, Miss Irene Messing, who lives with her parents; Mrs. 
Norman Hessling, Harbor Beach and Mrs. Agnes Hessling, Minden City; six sons, 
Roman, Wilfred and Charles all of Ruth; Elmer and Raymond of Minden City, and 
Eugene, who lives with his parents; 59 grand children, his stepmother, Mrs. 
Appolina Messing, Minden City, two brothers, William and Joseph, both of Ruth 
and a sister, Mrs. Mary Roggenbuck, harbor Beach.

He was born Oct 21, 1889, in Sherman Twp. He was a member of Holy Name Society 
of SS Peter & Paul Cath ch and former member many yrs of Bad Axe council No 1546 
Knights of Columbus, until his health failed.  Solemn Requiem High Mass will be 
chanted at 10 a.m. Sat in SS Peter & Paul ch by Rev Frank W Kaufmann and other 
priests. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Remains are in the family 
residence where Fr Kaufman will officiate at Rosary devotions at 8 p.m. Fri.
