October 2, 2008 HURON DAILY TRIBUNE 
Alvin James Messing, Sr., 66, of Ubly died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 8, 
2008 at his home.   He was born May 11, 1942 in Ruth to Andrew and Genevieve 
(Terbrack) Messing.   Alvin worked maintenance at Grady Foundry in Vassar.   
From a young age, Alvin farmed and truly enjoyed farming.   He was a crop 
farmer and raised swine.

Alvin is survived by his children: Alvin (Lynn) Messing, Jr.  of Ubly; Calvin 
(Rebecca) Messing of Bad Axe; Dino (Jodi) Messing of Cass City; grandchildren: 
Shaun, Brandi, Bethany, Jimmy, Corey, Nicole, Amanda, Justin, Kaitlyn; great-
grandchildren: Shawn, Isabella, Robert Jr., James II, Daniel; mother of his 
children, Geraldine Messing; brother, Paul (Kathy Malloy) Messing of Cass 
City; sister, Betty (Robert) Mausolf of Harbor Beach; special friend, Deb 
Franzel of Ubly; many nieces and nephews.   Alvin was preceded in death by his 
sister, Doris Goniwichia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m.  on Friday, July 11, 2008 in 
Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Chuck Carr of Calvary Bible 
Fellowship Church officiating.  Interment will be in Argyle Township 
Cemetery.   Pallbearers for Mr..  Messing will be: Dino Messing, Jodi Messing, 
Amanda Williams, Justin Williams, Paul Messing and Richard Williams.
