Bernice (Jaworski) Micklash
August 6, 1924 - March 16, 2012
Bernice Micklash Detroit, Michigan (1924 - 2012) Bernice (Jaworski) Micklash, 
87, went home to her Lord on March 16, 2012 in Detroit.  Bernice was born on 
August 6, 1924 to Floyd and Martha (Kozlowski) Jaworski in Port Austin.  She 
was united in marriage in 1947 to Ernest Micklash and the couple moved to 
Detroit.  Bernice lived most of her life in Hamtramck, Michigan, was a 
dedicated member of St. Florian Catholic Church, and loved spending time with 
her family.  For enjoyment, Bernice loved playing card games and bingo, 
watching stories, and taking long walks. 

Bernice is preceded in death by her husband Ernie, sister Dorothy Pincoski, and 
brother Chester Jaworski.  She is survived by her children, Virginia (Lloyd) 
Slabaugh, Richard (Vera) Micklash, Susan (Paul) Markle; her grandchildren, 
Brian (Jennifer) Schieweck, Jill (Jeremy) Van Hof, Nicole Micklash; and five 
great-grandchildren, Robert, Brian Gale, Theodore, Sara, and Lucy. She also 
leaves behind her sisters: Agnes Goretski, Helen (Sylvester) Inda, Joann 
Pettit, Irene (Eugene) Breuss, Lillian (Curt) Gossett, Leona Servay, Lorraine 
(Gerald) Rice, brothers, Ben (Joan) Jaworski, Frank (Charlotte) Jaworski, and 
Floyd (Delores) Jaworski, and brother-in-law Elmer (Beatrice) Micklash.  
Visitation will take place at Wujeck-Calcaterra Funeral Home in Shelby Twp. on 
Tuesday, March 20 from 3-9 p.m. The funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. on 
Wednesday, March 21 at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Shelby 
Twp.
