Elmer Theodore Micklash
November 8, 1920 – January 24, 2021
Elmer T. Micklash, 100 of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 
24, 2021, at his residence while under hospice care.  He was born on 
November 8, 1920, in Detroit to the late Theodore and Anna (Warchoch) 
Micklash.  He was united in marriage to the former Beatrice Kubacki on May 
17, 1941, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Smith Corners.  Beatrice 
preceded Elmer in death on August 27, 2020, after more than 79 years of 
marriage.  Elmer attended Kelly School in Ubly through the eighth grade.  He 
farmed together with his wife until 1985 and often reminisced about his 
early farming years working behind a team of horses.  During most of that 
period he also worked in manufacturing in both Elkton and Pigeon as a die 
setter.  Elmer was a former member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in 
Smith Corners where he was an active member of the Holy Name Society.  He 
was a current parishioner of St. John Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish 
in Ubly.  Elmer enjoyed playing Euchre, watching Tiger baseball, and 
traveling to visit with his loving family.  His niece Valerie Kubacki was a 
special caregiver for her uncle during his time of need.

Elmer is survived by two daughters; Charlotte (George) Romzek of 
Deckerville, and Patricia (Ronald) Schenk of Bad Axe; three sons, Kenneth 
(Theresa) of South Lyon, Thomas (Jeanne) of West Columbia, South Carolina, 
and Robert (Karen) Micklash of Fort Mills, South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 
many great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.  In addition 
to his wife, Elmer was preceded in death by his brother Ernest Micklash.

Due to current circumstances related to the pandemic and the concern for 
everyone's health and safety, Elmer's funeral mass will be a private service 
held at St. John Catholic Church.  The family hopes that everyone 
understands.  Memorial donations in Elmer's memory may be made directly to 
Good Shepherd Parish, St. John Catholic Church in Ubly.  Published in Huron
