Lucy M. (Holdwick) Moore     
May 19, 1928 - October 25, 2015
Mrs. Lucy Moore, 87 of Bad Axe, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 25, 
2015 while at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.  She was born on May 19, 
1928 in Sherman Township to the late Bernard “Ben” and Cecelia (Wipping) 
Holdwick.  She married Victor M. Priemer on October 20, 1948 at Sts. Peter & 
Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  He preceded her in death on September 10, 1961.  
Love found Lucy again and she married Louis Moore on February 27, 1965 at Most 
Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Smith Corners.  He preceded her in death on May 
26, 2007.

Lucy was an eighth grade graduate of a country school.  She worked at Clements 
Manufacturing for a few years, Hamill Seat Belt Factory for seven years at both 
the Ubly and Bad Axe locations.  Lucy was also employed at Walbro Corporation 
for a number of years at both the Cass City and Caro locations.  She was a 
current parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of St. Hubert Parish in Bad 
Axe.  She was formerly a parishioner at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of 
Smith Corners for 40 years.  Lucy was a member of the VFW Post #5740 Ladies 
Auxiliary of Ruth.  She enjoyed traveling and working in her flowers.  She 
cherished her family and friends and the precious time spent with them.

Lucy is survived by one daughter, Linda Allen and her husband David of 
Essexville; one grandson, Shaun Allen of Seattle; four sisters, Gracie Burkhard 
and her husband Delbert of Harbor Beach, Margaret Jurgess and her husband, 
Patrick of Attica, Doris Bowers of Bad Axe, Millie Kaufman and her husband, 
LaVern of Ruth; one brother, Bernard Holdwick of Harbor Beach; one brother-in-
law, Lowell Messing of Bad Axe.

Lucy was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Holdwick and Dolores 
Messing; one infant brother, LaVern Holdwick; one brother-in-law, Russell 
Bowers; one sister-in-law, Violet Holdwick.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, October 30, at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church, St. Hubert Parish in Bad Axe.  Rev. Robert Howe, pastor will 
officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Ubly.  Visitation 
will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 2-8 pm 
and Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Bad Axe from 10-11 am.  There will be a VFW 
Ladies Auxiliary service Thursday evening at 6 pm and a parish vigil service at 
6:30 pm. Both services will be at the funeral home.  Published Smigielski
