William Moore
Resident of this Area For 85 years, William Moore, 86, Huron sport fan, died in 
Hubbard Memorial hospital Sat evening after a short illness. Mr Moore was born 
in Ontario, Sept 26, 1863 and moved to Croswell when he was one year old. In 
1902 he became caretaker of the home in Lexington of the late Albert E Sleeper, 
ex-Governor of MI. He moved to Bad Axe 46 years ago with Mr & Mrs Sleeper. Mr 
Moore worked for Mrs Sleeper after the ex-Governor's death in 1934 until early 
this year when his health forced him to retire. He is survived by his widow, 
Effie, a daughter, Mrs Paul D Soini, Bad Axe; two sons, Charles U Moore, Ubly 
and Lewis Moore, Saginaw, and 6 grandchildren. He belonged to the Royal Arch 
Masons chapter and Knights Templar commander at Bad Axe, and was a life member 
of the Masonic lodge at Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tues 
in the William T Collon funeral home. Rev John w French, rector of St Paul 
Episcopal ch will officiate. Masonic burial services will be conducted 
in Colfax cemetery. The remains are at the family residence.
