Morden, 71, Huron county physician for 47 yrs, died at his home about 10 a.m. today after months of failing health. Coming to Bad Axe in 1907, Dr. Morden was made chief of staff at Hubbard Memorial hospital in 1919. He held this position until 1946. He began his practice in Pigeon in 1903. Born April 15, 1879 in Belleville, Canada, he came to the U S and to Adrian as a youngster with his parents. He graduated from the Univ of MI in 1903. He was married in Adrian Oct 10, 1905. After starting his practice, Dr. Morden went back to school to take a post graduate course in Edinburgh, SCT in 1913. He was an active Rotarian for many yrs and served as first president of the Bad Axe Rotary club. He is survived by one son, Earl, Bad Axe, and four grandchildren. His wife, Jesse Louise, died in Sept 1949. A daughter, Mrs. William Kivell, and a granddaughter were killed in an auto accident in 1949. The remains are at the home where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thurs. Burial will be in Colfax cemetery.
