Peter T Ney
Bad Axe, Sept 18 – Peter T Ney, 47, restaurant operator and former star baseball 
pitcher, died today in Bad Axe general hospital after a long illness. The 
remains are in his home on East Irwin street. Funeral services will be held at 9 
a.m. Mon in Sacred Heart Cath ch. Rev Charles A Roark will officiate. Burial 
will be in Colfax Cemetery. Mr Ney is survived by his widow, Mrs Anastasia 
Mousseau Ney, two sons, Joseph Courtney new, U S Navy, now home on leave; and 
peter Louis Ney, Bad Axe; three brothers, Anthony, Joseph and George Ney, and a 
sister Mrs Harry James, all of Bad Axe. 

Born May 30, 1901, in Hungary, he came to the U S when he was a child. Except 
for several years in Lincoln, MI, where he operated a hotel and stock farm, he 
lived most of his life in Huron County. In his youth, he was a star pitcher for 
Bad Axe, Kinde and Caseville in Huron County league. He had a blazing fast ball 
and sharp breaking curve that enabled him to win many games. For the past few 
years, he operated a restaurant in Bad Axe.
