Joseph Francis Niemiec
March 9, 1943 - September 10, 2006
Mr. Joseph “Joe” F. Niemiec, Jr., 63, of Ubly, passed away Sunday, September 
10, 2006 at his residence with his family at his side under hospice care.  
He was born March 9, 1943 in Detroit to the late Joseph F. and Angeline 
(Peplinski) Niemiec, Sr.   He married Diane Krumenacker on April 26, 2006 in 
Bad Axe.   Joe was a 1962 graduate of Ubly High School.  He was a member of 
the Grindstone-Port Hope Sportsmen’s Club for many years.  He was a union 
member of the Operating Engineers Local 324.  He was a past member of the 
Loyal Order of Moose Bad Axe Lodge 2358.  He liked playing cards, pool and 
darts.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 
grandchildren.  Joe is survived by his wife, Diane Niemiec of Ubly; two 
daughters, Laurie Glaza and her husband, Ken, of Ubly, and Yvonne Paolucci 
and her husband, David, of Bad Axe; three sons, Brian Niemiec and his wife, 
Lori, of Palm Coast, Florida, Steven Niemiec and his wife, Kristi, of Bad 
Axe, and Jeff Niemiec and his wife, Amanda, of Ubly, three step- children, 
James Schulte and his wife, Toma, of Pound, Wisconsin, Donald Schulte of  
Oconto, Wisconsin, and Theresa Kingsley and her husband, Joe, of Oconto, 
Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Niemiec and Mary Guigar 
and her husband, Eugene, both of Ubly; one brother, Tom Niemiec and his 
special friend, Pat Gann of Hazel Park.   He was preceded in death by one 
son, Joseph (Joey) Niemiec; and an infant daughter.  The funeral service was 
held Friday, September 15, 2006 at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly.  
Rev. Joseph Griffin; pastor of St John Catholic Church in Ubly, officiated.  
Burial was church cemetery.  Published Minden City Herald Thursday September 
21, 2006.
