James Alexander O'Malley
May 28, 1925 - January 16, 1975
James A. O'Malley, 50, Ubly, Huron County Veterans Counselor, died 
unexpectedly Monday in Huron Memorial Hospital Bad Axe, after suffering an 
apparent heart attack.  He was born May 28, 1925, in Bad Axe, and was a 
lifelong Ubly resident.  He married Ruth Abraham October 11, 1952, in St. 
John's Catholic Church, Ubly.  Mr. O'Malley was veterans counselor since 
1969.  Mr. O'Malley operated a sign painting agency in Ubly since 1948.  Mr. 
O'Malley is survived by his wife; two sons, Daniel O'Malley, Concord, 
Calif., and Patrick O'Malley, Ubly; three daughters, Misses Rosanne, 
Catherine and Mary O'Malley, all of Ubly; a brother, Charles O'Malley, San 
Bernardino, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. George Johnston, Upper Darby, Penn. 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. John's Church.  Rev. 
Raymond Oswald, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bad Axe, will 
officiate.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, with Military rites under 
the auspices of combined veteran posts.  The remains will be in Zinger 
Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Wednesday.  A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. 
Wednesday in the funeral home.  Calvin Reibling, chairman of the Huron 
County Board of Commissioners, has directed that county offices be closed 
from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, and the veterans counselor office will be 
closed all day Friday.  Francis Hund, Ubly Village president, is requesting, 
all business places to be closed during the time of the funeral.  Published
