She was born February 11, 1906 in Minden City, daughter of the late Peter and Susan (Sofka) Lemanski. She married Alexander Konkel in 1925. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1936. She then married Floyd O’Parka on September 27, 1945 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Elementary School. She farmed with her husband in Paris Township and was a foster parent for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, crocheting and made many beautiful appliqué quilts, and attended many area Senior Citizen groups. She is survived by her husband Floyd of Ubly; two daughters: Verna (Harry) Booms of Harbor Beach; Evelyn (Orval) Brown of Kingston; two sons: Raymond (Doris) Konkel of Clinton Township and Alexander (Shirley) Konkel of Windsor, Ontario; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother: Leo (Stella) Lemanski of Ubly and one sister Agnes (August) Abraham of Minden City. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Angeline Konkel; one son Clarence Konkel; two brothers, Adolph and Stanley Lemanski; one sister Clara Block; and one great grandchild. Funeral services were Wednesday April 30, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville, the Rev. Michael Dunckel, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home Ubly. Published Harbor Beach Times Thursday May 1, 1997.
