Charlie Hammond presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church only. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements handled by Apsey Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen; his children, Deborah Peruski of Ubly, Darla (Darrel) Dhyse of Kinde, Roger (Carmel) Osentoski of Ubly, Randy (Barb) Osentoski of Ubly, and Ronald Osentoski of Carlsbad, California; his grandchildren, Ryan (Renee) Peruski, Stephanie (Andrew) Hebberd, Chelsie Peruski, Mitchell (Adrienne) Dhyse, Kurtis (Alicia) Dhyse, Erik Dhyse, Evan (fiance Haley Moore) Dhyse, Rakel, Shane, Kirah, and Arisa Osentoski, Elle Osentoski, Zachary and Kyle Osentoski; his great grandchildren, Wyatt and Lucas Dhyse; his brother, John (Mary) Osentoski; his sisters, Jane (Richard) Maurer, Mary Alice (Jeffrey) Greene, and Lorraine Kzinowek; his sister-in-laws, Dorothy (Eugene) Grifka, Marge (Leonard) Briolat, Ruth Osentoski; his brother-in-laws, William (Michalene) Parrish, Robert (Linda) Parrish, Clayton Jr (Arelia) Parrish, and Ronald (Marie) Maurer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Osentoski and sister, Patricia Maurer; and in-laws Ervin & Joann Briolat. Elmer Frank Osentoski, age 82, of Ubly, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. Elmer was born April 29, 1936 in Tyre, Michigan to the late Stanley and Bertha (Grifka) Osentoski. He graduated from Ubly High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Helen Parrish at St. Felix Catholic Church in Pinnebog on June 17, 1961. He was a member of St. John Church, Good Shepherd Parrish of Ubly where he was a former usher. Elmer was a farmer until 1984, was a mechanic for various employers, and was a licensed builder. His passion was tinkering with metal and wood to build unique tractors and equipment. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan and depending on which hat he was wearing, he was either a Spartan or Wolverine fan. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, Casinos, and deer camp. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
