Leon Joseph Paradise January 12, 1894 - November 18, 1971 Leon J. Paradise, 77, of 1804 Minnie Street, an active bowler and long-time railroad employee, died Thursday in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness. He was born January 12, 1895, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and attended Wisconsin schools. He had lived in Port Huron the last 12 years. Mr. Paradise married Martha M. Leppek Gawel December 8, 1939, in Chicago. He worked for railroads In Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul for 44 years, retiring in 1959. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mr. Paradise is survived by his widow: a son, Harold W. Paradise Sr., Arlington Heights, IIIinois; a grandson; a granddaughter and two great grandchildren. The remains will be in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Robert B. Koenig, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. Clair County Cancer Fund.
