John Partaka Sr.
May 12, 1864 - August 10, 1953
John Partaka Sr. Minden City, Aug. 11 - John Partaka Sr., 89, who had 94 
living descendants, died Monday night in the home on the farm in Paris 
Township, Huron County, where he lived the last 87 years.  Born May 12, 1864 
in Poland, he came when he was two years old to the farm.  He and Miss 
Caroline Bureiza were married September 17, 1893, in St. Mary's' Catholic 
church in Parisville.  They would have observed their sixtieth wedding 
anniversary in a few weeks.  Mr Partaka is survived by his widow, three 
sons, Edward, Detroit; William, Palms, and John Jr., Minden City; six 
daughters, Mrs. Lucy Zdrojewski, Palms; Mrs. Joseph Walagor, Mrs. Dewey 
Pariseau, Mrs. Daris Blocker and Mrs. George Sabo, all of Detroit, and Mrs. 
Clarence Zmich, Minden City, 37 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren.  A 
daughter, Mrs. August Salowitz, died December 13, 1949.  

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in St Mary's church.  Rev. 
Arthur F. Walagor, Toronto, Ont., a grandson, will officiate.  Burial will 
be in the church cemetery.  Remains are in the family home where Rosary 
devotions will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.  Published Times Herald

Note: Born to John & Mary (Poloskab) Partaka.  Married Mary Kubacki 1873-1893 
on November 7, 1892 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  Mary died June 
24, 1893 from diptheria.
