Irene M. (Schneider) Particka  
March 4, 1925 – May 26, 2011

Irene M. Particka, 86, of Ubly, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Huron 
Medical Center.  She was born March 4, 1925 in Ubly.  She is the daughter of 
the late John and Bertha (Rothe) Schneider.  She married Frederick Marquardt on 
November 2, 1946 in Kinde.  He passed away on June 28, 1975.  She then married 
Florian Particka on April 20, 1978 in Sandusky.  He passed away May 9, 2001.

Mrs. Particka was a homemaker, a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad 
Axe and a member of the Sandusky V.F.W. Auxiliary No. 2945.  She is survived by 
one son, Duane (Barbara) Marquardt, of Carsonville; two daughters, Judi (Kevin) 
Martin, of Croswell and Sheryl (Dale) Gabara, of Sandusky; six step-children, 
Michael Particka and Denise Niebel, of Ubly, Patricia (Clayton) Evans, of Ubly, 
Joseph (Marlene) Particka, of Ubly, Sharon Particka (Steven Laing), of 
Wisconsin, Linda Williams and Art Cramer, of Tennessee, and James (Chona) 
Particka, of California; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one 
sister, Matilda Gintner, of Elkton and several nieces, nephews and other 
relatives.  She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Finkbeiner, Regina 
Smith, Rose Volz and Lena MacCallum; one brother, Joseph Reiman.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Peace 
Lutheran Church in Sandusky. Rev. Kenneth Lueke will officiate.  Burial will be 
in Greenwood Cemetery in Sandusky.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday 
at the Hacker Funeral Parlors in Sandusky and from 10 a.m. until the time of 
service Saturday at the Peace Lutheran Church in Sandusky.  There will be a VFW 
Auxiliary Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hacker Funeral Parlors in Sandusky.  
Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bad Axe.  Arrangements are 
being made by the Hacker Funeral Parlors in Sandusky.
