Eleanor K. (Grifka) Particka January 11, 1916 - August 14, 1989 Eleanor K. Particka, age73, of Ubly, died Monday, August 14, at the Huron County Care Facility after a short illness. She was born January 11, 1916 jn Austin Township, daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Pullum) Grifka. She married Alex Particka October 3, 1936. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ubly. She was a graduate of Proctor Country School, owned and operated Al’s Bar in Lewisville from 1946-1950, former member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Frieburg, former member and officier of St. Igantius Rosary Society, member of St. John's Catholic Church, member of St. Johns Christian Mothers, and a chairperson for various committees. She is survived by her husband Alex of Ubly; four sons, Melvin Particka, of Ubly, Raymond Particka of Sterling Heights, Norman Particka of Warren, and Leonard Particka of Bad Axe; one daughter, Mrs Norman (Beatrice) Franzel of Reese; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 step greatgrandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Chester (Martha) Leppek of Parisville, Mrs. James (Theresa) Taylor of Ubly, Mrs. Alger (Alice) Horetski of Port Austin, Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Taylor of Ironton, Ohio, and Miss Gladys Grifka of Ubly; three brothers, Cass Grifka and Lloyd Grifka of Ubly and John Grifka of Warren. She was preceded in death by one son, John Richard Particka in 1951, two grandsons. Martin Particka in 1967 and Raymond Particka, Jr., in 1971, one infant sister, Irene Grifka, and one brother Alex Grifka in 1976. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Church of Ubly. Rev. Peter Gaspeny, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosary was 8 p.m. Tuesday by St, Johns Christian Mothers. Parish Scripture Service is 8:15 Wednesday by Father Gaspeny. Arrangements were made by Zinger-Smigielskj Funeral, Ubly.
