John Roger Pearce
Bad Axe June 18 – John Roger Pearce, 84, resident of Huron County about 67 years, 
died Tues in his home after a long illness. Born May 23, 1865, in Canada, he came 
when he was 17 years old to the vicinity of Ubly. He lived the last 26 years in 
Bad Axe. His wife, Marian, died 7 years ago. Mr Pearce is survived by three sons, 
James of Ubly; Edgar of Lansing, and Archie of Detroit; three daughters, Miss Mary 
Pearce, Detroit; Mrs Harold Roberts, South Bend, IN; and Mrs Calvin Snoddon, Bad 
Axe; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  The remains are in the Alden A 
MacAlpine funeral home.
