Daniel R. Peruski
April 18, 1918 – July 22, 1991
Daniel R. Peruski, 73, Westland, died Monday, July 22, at Advance Nursing 
Home, Inkster, after a long illness.  He was born April 18, 1918, in Paris 
Township, son of John D. and Josephine (Eman) Peruski.  He married Alma Alent 
June 20, 1939, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville.  She preceded him in 
death July 11, 1985.  Mr. Peruski was a graduate of St. Mary’s Elementary 
School, Parisville.  He was the owner of Oak Grove Tavern, Flat Rock, from 
1946-49.  From 1949-64 he worked for Champion Spark Plug.  He then worked for 
General Motors at the Detroit Diesel Plant, Romulus, until 1975.  He lived in 
Paris Township until 1945.  He was a member of Bishop Murphy Council, Knights 
of Columbus 3257, Warren.  He also was a parishioner of St. Simon and St Jude 
Catholic Church, Westland.  

Surviving are 2 sons, John “Don” Peruski (Diane), Utica, and Vern (Sandy) 
Peruski, Westland; one daughter, Debrah (Michael) Marden, Highland; 10 
grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bertha Dropeski, Ruth, and 
Rose (Irvin) Jaskowski, Minden City.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, 
Patricia Buzelli; 2 brothers, Sylvester Peruski and John Peruski; 2 sisters, 
Lucy Smalley and Mayme Roggenbuck; 2 stepbrothers, Adam Peruski and Casimer 
Peruski, and one stepsister, Josephine Smalley.

A parish scripture service was held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.  Funeral services 
were held Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville. The 
Rev. Ronald Dombrowski, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.  Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly, handled the arrangements.
