Alvin David Peruski September 7, 1936 - January 23, 2024 Alvin D. Peruski, age 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 23, 2024 under the care of Compassus Hospice at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe, after the recent death of his wife, Kathleen, who was the love of his life. He was born September 7, 1936 in Paris Township to the late Joseph and Suzanne (Pionk) Peruski. He married Kathleen A. Hessling on November 25, 1961 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helena. He resided in Parisville his entire life and was a member of St. Mary's - St. Isidore Catholic Church, Parisville. Alvin attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Parisville through eighth grade and attended Ubly High School. During his early years he helped his dad on the family dairy/crop farm, (which he eventually acquired), worked as a crewmember near Oscoda building overpasses, was employed at Ubly Tractor Sales and Nestle in Minden City until he settled upon his employment with Hercules and Champlain Industries in Harbor Beach from which he retired. Alvin and Kathleen spent their retirement years dancing, playing cards, socializing, and doing some traveling. He also enjoyed being an active member of the Ruth Knights of Columbus Council 3823 of which he was a lifetime member. Alvin is survived by a son, David (Sandy) Peruski of Sunnyvale, Texas, four daughters, Diane (John) Porter of Ann Arbor, Dolores (Timothy) Gorkowski of Filion, Doris (Ken) Wisneski of Kinde, and Deborah (Jeff) Roberts of Saginaw. Eleven grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Holcomb, Nicholas Peruski, Emily Peruski, Meaghan Gorkowski (Lukasz Sendrowski), Rebecca (Aaron) Durance, Kathryn Gorkowski, Ana (Andrew) Pathic, Anthony (Jessi) Wisneski, Sarah Roberts, McKenna Roberts (Levi Belill), Rachel Roberts. Eight great-grandchildren, Trevor, Maeve, and Hazel Holcomb; Henry and Asher Pathic; Emery, Mabel,and Margo Wisneski. One sister, Darlene (Bill) Bailey, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen A. (Hessling) Peruski; two sisters, Mary (Richard) Schwartz, Betty Peruski; a brother-in-law, Elmer (Leona) Hessling; two sisters-in-law, Lucille (Stanley) Learman and Florence (Bernard) Booms. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11 am at Holy Apostles Parish–Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. Burial will be in St. Isidore-St. Mary's church cemetery, Parisville. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 3–8 pm at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe and Saturday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am.
