He was born April 9, 1935 in Sigel Township, son of the late Joseph and Edna Peyerk. He was united in marriage to Vivian Pawlowski, on October 12, 1957 at St. Joseph's Church in Rapson. Mr. Peyerk was owner of Peyerk Tile and also farmed. He was a parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of Port Austin; children, Chris (Cheryl) Peyerk, of Kinde, Dean (Sheri) Peyerk, of Kinde, Joseph Peyerk III and his fiancée, Jill Wildman, of Gagetown; son-in-law, Bernie (Pauline) Messing, of Minden City; four grandchildren, Ashley, Sarah and Wayne Messing, of Minden City, and Dean Peyerk, of Kinde; brothers, Sylvester (Margie) Peyerk, of Shelby Township, Clarence (Lois) Peyerk, of Bad Axe, James (Janis) Peyerk, of Cass City, Al (Nancy) Peyerk, of Harbor Beach, David Peyerk, of Cass City; sisters, Genevieve (Matt) Huffer, of Port Austin, Donna (Robert) Geiger, of Texas, Janet (Tom) Dinelski, of Sterling Heights, Mary Meharg, of Yale, Suzanne (Dale) Stanton, of Emmet, Rita (Richard) Jackson, of Bad Axe, Barbara (Rick) Rifenbark, of Bad Axe; one sister-in- law, Bernice Peyerk Yochin, of Port Austin. He was preceded in death by two children, Craig Peyerk and Connie Peyerk Messing; one brother, Eugene Peyerk; one brother-in- law, Paul Pawlowski; one sister, Viola Polega; brother-in-law, Raymond Polega; mother and father, Edna and Joseph Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Fabian and Susan Pawlowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin with Fr. Shine officiating. Visitation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at the MacAlpine Funeral Home Gage Chapel in Kinde. A rosary will be held at 8 p.m. today and a scripture service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joseph Peyerk Grandchildren College Fund or the donor's choice.
