Evelyn M. (Lackowski) Peyerk  
March 13, 1933 - April 12, 2021
Evelyn M. Peyerk, 88, of Bad Axe and Filion, passed away peacefully on April 
12, 2021 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living under hospice care.  Evelyn was born 
in Harbor Beach, Michigan on March 19, 1933 to the late Franklin and Julia 
(Kucharczyk) Lackowski.  On September 25, 1954, she married Elmer Peyerk.  
They were together for 44 years before he passed away on October 29, 1998.  

She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Rapson/St. Hubert Parish and was 
also a member of Daughters of Isabella.  Evelyn loved to garden flowers and 
vegetables tend to her house plants, canning, playing cards, casino trip and 
spending time on the family farm in Filion.  She was always open for a hug 
especially for her grandkids. 

Evelyn is survived by her 5 children: Philip (Diane) Peyerk, Janet Schultz, 
Thomas Peyerk, Kathryn Osantowski and Paul (Angela) Peyerk; her 
grandchildren: Tennille Peyerk, Jodi (Mark) Kordyzon, Heather (Gary) Mimura, 
Amanda Bendrey, Jason (Ann) Schultz, Levi Schultz, Raechelle Schultz, 
Raymond (Nicole) Peyerk, Ryan (Jessica) Osantowski, Sarah Osantowski, Amy 
(Taylor) Craig, Jimmy Leitch and Tyler Leitch; and 19 great-grandchildren.  
She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Watchowski and many nieces and 
nephews.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kimberly 
Peyerk; two grandsons: Ehren and Joshua Peyerk and a great-grandson, Isaac 
Robertson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. 
Joseph Church/St. Hubert Parish in Rapson with Fr. TJ Fleming officiating.  
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 
p.m. at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Sunday, April 18, 2021.  
The Daughters of Isabella will hold a rosary service at 4 p.m.  Memorials 
may be offered to be used at the family's discretion (c/o Janet Schultz).
