Born June 13, 1942 in Harbor Beach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Peyerk. He married Jo Ann Maurer on November 27, 1965 In Harbor Beach. Mr Peyerk was a graduate of Harbor Beach Community School class of ’62. Jerry was a parishloner of-St Joseph's Catholic Church in Port Huron. He was employed by Mole Construction Company, Roseville. Mr. Peyerk is survived by his wife Jo Ann; one daughter Cheryl, at home his parents Mr and Mrs Edward Peyerk; two sisters Mrs. JoAnn Roberts, Bad Axe and Mrs. Terry Horetski, Harbor Beach; five brothers Edward, Roseville; Ben, Smiths Creek; John, Port Huron and Kevin and Bryan at home. Remains were In the Ramsey Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, with Father Cornelius McEachin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Published Harbor Beach Times Thursday February 15, 1968 Skin Divers Find Body Of Drowned Motorist The body of a Port Huron man, whose car left I-94 north of Mitchell Road Saturday and skidded into Pine River, was found Sunday morning by skin divers. Local skin divers Raynard Jokie and Donald Evans located the body of Jerry L. Peyerk, 25, of 905 Tenth Street, formerly of Harbor Beach, in about three feet of water a short distance from his car. Jokie and Evans, who were working with the Sheriff's Department, were assisting skin divers called in by the St. Clair State Police to search for Peyerk's body after they found Peyerk's car overturned in the river in about five feet of water. A deputy county medical examiner ruled Peyerk died by drowning. Peyerk's face was cut and bruised, police said. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Harbor Beach. Rev. Cornelius N. McEachin will officiate at services in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Peyerk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Edward Peyerk, was born June 13, 1942, at Harbor Beach. He was graduated in 1962 by Harbor Beach Community High School. He and Miss Jo Ann Maurer were married November 27, 1965. He was employed by Mole Construction Company, Livonia, Michigan. Mr. Peyerk is survived by his widow; a daughter, Cheryl; his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Joan Roberts and Mrs.Terry Horetski, both of Harbor Beach, and five brothers, Edward Peyerk, Roseville, Mich.; Daniel Peyerk, Smiths Creek; John Peyerk, Port Huron, and Kevin and Brian Peyerk, both of Harbor Beach. The remains are in Burton E. Ramsey Funeral Home where Father McEachin will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
