September 11,1926 - January 6, 2015
Almace County, North Carolina
MEBANE - Mary Elizabeth Polak, 88, passed away January 6, 2015.  She was born 
in Harbor Beach, Michigan September 11, 1926 to the late John E. and Susie 
Smaglinski Ulfig.  In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her 
husband of 64 years Raymond A. Polak; sister, Gertrude Borek and her husband 
Steve; brother-in-law, Leonard Soltys.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Elaine M. Whitman and her 
husband Ed of Michigan; son, Gerald R. Polak and his wife Linda of Mebane, 
North Carolina; sister, Selma Maurer and her husband Robert of Michigan; 
brother, John Ulfig and his wife Chris of Michigan; sister-in-law, Loraine 
Soltys of Michigan; three grandsons, Robbie Webster, Ronnie Webster and 
Jonathan Webster and his wife Christy; four great grandchildren, McKinley, 
Pierce, Emery and Conner.  A private family service was held.  Entombment will 
take place in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, Michigan.  Walker’s Funeral 
Home of Mebane is in charge of arrangements.
