Jerome Arthur Priemer  
August 9, 1926 – July 29, 1990
Jerome Arthur Priemer, 63, Ruth, died Sunday, July 29, 1990 at Sunny Acres 
Nursing Center, Bad Axe, after a long illness.  He was born August 9, 1926 in 
Sherman Township, son of the late Arthur and Mary (Miller) Priemer.  He married 
Gladys Messing December 27, 1947 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth.  
Mr. Priemer was a graduate of Track Rural School and was employed at Ruth 
Farmers Elevator from 1946 until 1986.  He was a lifelong parishioner of Sts. 
Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was an honorable member of the Knights of 
Columbus Ruth Council 3823.  He was a member of that council for 44 years.  Mr. 
Priemer was a Sherman Township Firefighter from 1986-1974 and was a former 
assistant chief.

Surviving are his wife, Gladys, Ruth, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Charlene) 
Hessling, Ruth, and Mrs. Robert (Janice) Fischer, Apollo Beach, Florida, one 
son, Jerome J. Priemer, Marysville, 10 grandchildren, one brother, Bernard 
Priemer, Marysville, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Wolschleger, 
Charlevoix, and Mrs. Herman (Sylvia) Adler, Port Huron.  He was preceded in 
death by one brother, Romandius Priemer.  

Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  The 
Rev. Jack Leipert, pastor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bad Axe, officiated.  
Burial was in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.  From Find a Grave
